Getting started

Signing in

How to sign in, replace a temporary password and reset a password you have forgotten.

Open your workspace’s address in a browser. The sign-in page asks for a Username and a Password. Select Sign in.

Your admin creates your account and tells you which username to use. On many workspaces it is your email address. If your company has added its logo, the page shows that above the form.

If your admin gave you a temporary password, the first sign-in shows Choose a new password. The page says your temporary password must be replaced before you can sign in. Type a New password and select Set Password. You are signed in once it is accepted.

On workspaces that use this kind of account, the sign-in page has a Forgot Password? link.

  1. Enter your email and select Send Code. You get a code by email.
  2. Enter the Verification code and a New password, then select Set Password.
  3. If the code did not arrive, select Send a New Code and use the newest one.

Select Back to Sign In to leave the reset at any step. After a successful reset you are signed in with the new password.

If your admin reset your password from the console, you are taken through the same code steps.

If you sign in and belong to no business yet, the brain asks What’s your business called?. Type the name your team will see and select Continue. Your workspace is then built and the setup starts. The name can be up to 80 characters.

On a deployment that takes payments, a new business is then asked to Choose a plan. Pick one and you go to Stripe to pay, or, for a plan with a free trial, to give a card that is charged only when the trial ends; when you come back the workspace is built. If your business already has a plan (say an earlier setup of its workspace didn’t finish), the workspace is built straight away without asking again. See Credits and billing.

If someone invited you and you already had an account, you aren’t added straight away. The next time you sign in, before anything else, the brain asks Join the business they named, or Set up my own business instead. An invitation that has expired, been withdrawn or has no seat left can’t be used any more; ask the person who invited you to invite you again.

Select the log out icon at the right of the top bar. The brain asks Log out? first, so a stray click never ends your session. Confirm with Log Out, or choose Cancel.

The first time you sign in, the brain asks you three short questions about you. See Your first chat.
