Saving answers to the brain
Turn a good answer into a document in Files so the brain can find it again.
# Saving answers to the brain Under every finished answer there is a **Save to Brain** action. It turns the answer into a document in **Files**, in a folder called **Saved Answers**, so the brain can search it and cite it in later answers like any other document. ## What the document holds - **A title.** The question the answer replied to, or the answer's first heading when the question is long. You can change it before saving. - **Who saved it, when, and a link back to the chat** it came from. - **The answer itself**, without the option buttons the chat showed under it. - **A Sources list.** Each citation in the answer becomes a numbered link: a document in Files, or a web page. ## Who can find it - **Company Knowledge** goes in with uploaded files, so whoever that audience takes in can find it, in Files, in search and in answers. Only admins can save company knowledge. - **Only Me** saves it as a private document. Only you see it in Files, and only your own chats can draw on it. An admin's answer saves as company knowledge by default. If the chat read anything not everyone may read, such as your own mail or an app set to Admins Only, it saves as private by default and the dialog says so. An admin can still choose company knowledge. Everyone else saves privately. ## After saving The action changes to **Saved**, with **Private** beside it when only you can find it, and an **Open in Files** link. While the brain is still reading the document in, the link opens the Saved Answers folder; once it is in, it opens the document. An answer can be saved once. Coming back to the chat later still shows it as saved. If someone deletes the document from Files, the answer can be saved again.Under every finished answer there is a Save to Brain action.
