Getting started
What the brain is, what you can see in it, and how to sign in and ask your first question.
# Getting started The brain is your company's assistant. It answers questions from the documents, emails and apps your admins have shared with it, and it shows you where each answer came from. What you see depends on who you are. Everyone signed in can chat, browse the skill tree, look at files and make their own skills. Admins also manage skills, settings, people and connections. Where a page is for admins only, it says so. If your admin limited the departments you can see, the skill tree, the agents and the skills list show only those departments. In this section: - [Signing in](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/getting-started/signing-in/): your username, a temporary password and resetting a forgotten password. - [Your first sign-in as a teammate](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/getting-started/your-first-sign-in-as-a-teammate/): the short set-up when you are invited, and the guided tour. - [Your first chat](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/getting-started/your-first-chat/): the three profile questions and your first question. - [Let the brain set itself up](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/getting-started/let-the-brain-set-itself-up/): on a new deployment, the brain reads your website and writes the brief, shapes the tree and remembers the facts. - [Finding your way](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/getting-started/finding-your-way/): the top bar and the main places. The brain is your company’s assistant.
