Knowledge map
A picture of how your documents group together, opened from the brain on the skill tree.
# Knowledge map The knowledge map draws your documents as clusters, so you can see what the brain knows and how topics sit close to or far from each other. It has no page of its own. ## Open it On the skill tree home, click the brain in the middle. The camera dives into it and the map opens over the home. A bar at the top shows **Back** and a breadcrumb: **Skill tree**, then **Company brain**. If the graph is on for your workspace, a switch lets you move between **Map** and **Graph**. See [Knowledge graph](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/knowledge/knowledge-graph/). ## What you can do - Search documents with the box "Search documents…". - Click a domain, then a cluster inside it, to read what it holds. - Click a document to see its details. - Press Escape or **Back** to step out. A line at the top shows how many chunks the map covers, how many domains it has and when it was last updated. ## When there is no map Before any document has been read, the map says "No map yet" and "The map appears once your documents have been ingested." ## Rebuilding (admin only) The map is rebuilt automatically after documents finish loading or are deleted. Admins can also rebuild it by hand: **Build Map** when there is none, and **Update Map** ("Rebuild the map from your latest documents") when there is one. Private documents are never part of the map.The knowledge map draws your documents as clusters, so you can see what the brain knows and how topics sit close to or far from each other.
