Agents and memory
Your team of agents
The Company Brain and one agent per department, and what each of them owns.
# Your team of agents Your team is the Company Brain plus one agent for each department in the skill tree. The team is built fresh from the tree, so a new department brings a new agent, and a deleted department takes its agent away. ## The Company Brain The Company Brain is the front door. It owns every enabled skill. A chat that is not tied to a department belongs to the Company Brain. ## Department agents A department agent owns the enabled skills of its department. Its page shows the label **Department agent**, its role, its rules and a section called **Can run** that lists its skills. A department agent keeps to its own area. When a question needs another department's data, it says so in a sentence and offers to hand the question to the Company Brain, which sees every department. If a department is deleted, the chats that belonged to its agent fall back to the Company Brain on their own. ## An agent's page Open an agent from the team rail to reach its page at `/agents/<agent>`. The page is your main thread with the agent (see [Main thread and side chats](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/chats/main-thread-and-side-chats/)), with **New Side Chat** at the top. Beside the thread, or below it on a narrow screen, you see: - **Side Chats**: your other chats with the agent, newest first, and **New Side Chat**. - **About** the agent: whether it is the front door or a department agent, and its role. - **Rules** and **Skills**, each with a count. Select one to see the rules, or the skills the agent can run. - **Teach a New Skill**, which starts the [skill maker](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/skills/making-a-skill/). - **Memory**, which opens the [shared memory](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/agents-and-memory/shared-memory/) (for admins, the Memory section of Settings). - **What the agent has learned**, when the shared memory holds facts that agent proposed. - **Scheduled**, how many of your [schedules](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/chats/schedules/) this agent answers, linking to your schedules. - **Connected Apps**, how many apps are connected, linking to [Connected apps](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/). Admins also see an **Edit Agent** button (the pencil). See [Looks and voices](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/agents-and-memory/looks-and-voices/). ## What you can see If an admin limited your access to some departments, you see the Company Brain and only the agents for the departments you are allowed. The Company Brain then carries only the skills of those departments.
