Chats

Looks

The agent's face above your chat, and the team rail beside it.

Every chat shows one face, the face of the agent it belongs to, including the Company Brain. A new chat that nobody has taken yet shows no face. It floats above the conversation. It is large over an empty chat and shrinks in beside the agent’s name once the chat fills. It grows a little under the pointer, and it grows and breathes while the agent thinks, looks things up or writes. Under the name you see what the agent is doing while it works, and its role the rest of the time. For a department agent, select the face or the name to open that agent’s page.

On a wide screen your team is docked down the left side, under the top bar. Select the panel button at its top (Open Team List, or Close Team List) to switch between its two sizes. Your choice is remembered in this browser. Under that button, New Chat starts a new chat that belongs to nobody until you send it (see New chat and Auto): closed, it is a square plus marked New; open, a New Chat row. It is highlighted while that new chat is open.

  • Closed, the rail is a narrow column with one face for each agent and its name underneath. The agent you are with is highlighted, and a small dot pulses beside an agent that is working. Hover over a face to see the agent’s name, role and status.
  • Open, the rail widens into the team list. Each agent is a row with its face, its name and a line saying what it is doing, such as “Idle, 17h ago”, “Working” or “No chats yet”. The agent you are with opens out underneath into its Main Thread, its newest side chats and New Side Chat. See Main thread and side chats.

Select an agent, in either size, to go to its main thread.

The rail does not show on narrow screens. Instead, the Your Team button above the chat opens the list of agents, and New Chat starts a fresh conversation.
