Wheel and line

On a wide screen the tree has two shapes. You can switch between them at any time.

The wheel

The departments stand on a wheel around the brain. Turn it in any of these ways:

• Drag it.
• Use one notch of the scroll wheel to move one department.
• Press the arrow keys.

The wheel always comes to rest with a department at the bottom.

The line

In the line, the same departments stand upright in a row, with the one in the middle lit. Drag to slide along the row, use a scroll notch or the arrow keys to move one department, or use the two buttons under the line to bring the next department into the middle.

Switching

At the bottom right there is a switch labelled Radial and Line. Select the shape you want. Your choice is remembered in this browser.

The switch appears while no department is open. Close the open department first, with All Departments, to see it. While an admin is editing the tree, the tree stays on the wheel.

Background

The background the tree is drawn on is in Settings, under Appearance: Dot Grid, Night Sky, Star Chart or Brain Nebula. Your choice is remembered in this browser.

Phones and narrow windows

On a phone, or when the window is too narrow for the wheel, the tree is shown as stacked sections instead. Everything you can do with a department or a job works the same way.

Asking from the tree

At the bottom of the home page there is a question box. Type a question and press Enter or the arrow button to open a chat with the question already asked. Above the box you find:

• Continue a Skill, when you have an unfinished skill.
• Recent, your latest chats. When the row is wider than the box, it scrolls sideways and fades out at the edge that hides more.
