Dashboards

Control Room

Every dashboard behind one tab bar, with the agent that owns each one beside it.

The Control Room shows sample dashboards for a fictional agency called Brightline: paid ads, the sales pipeline, finance, content, outbound and client delivery. The numbers are sample data with their own story, not your company’s figures.

A tab bar runs across the top: Overview first, then Paid Ads, Pipeline, Finance, Content, Outbound and Delivery. A small number on a tab says how many things there need you. Click a tab, or move between tabs with the arrow keys, Home and End.

The open tab is part of the address, so you can share or bookmark a tab: /dashboards?tab=finance opens the Finance tab.

On a phone the tabs become a row of chips that scrolls sideways.

The Overview shows every dashboard as a card, with a line at the top such as “4 things need you, across 3 dashboards”. Each card shows:

  • the face of the agent that owns the dashboard, and a line such as “Xero, owned by Finance”
  • a status: Need You with how many things wait on a person, Watching when the agents are keeping an eye on something, or All Good
  • the dashboard’s two most important numbers and how they moved
  • a small trend line, and when the dashboard last synced

Click a card to open its tab.

Each tab shows one dashboard in full: its key numbers, charts you can hover for exact figures, the range or filter switches, the signals panel, and tables you can sort. Click a row to see the detail in the middle of the screen, and on Paid Ads go on from a campaign to its ad sets and ads. Escape closes the detail.

Every dashboard belongs to a department, and that department’s agent answers questions about it. Paid Ads and Content belong to your marketing or content agent, Pipeline and Outbound to Sales, Finance to Finance and Delivery to Delivery. The Overview belongs to the Company Brain. When your workspace has no department for a dashboard, the Company Brain answers for it.

The agent sits in a panel on the right of every tab. Each tab has its own chat with its agent, a side chat named after the tab (for example Content Dashboard), kept apart from your main thread with the agent. The chat is made when you ask your first question on the tab, and lists under the agent in the team rail with a dashboard mark. You can also open it from Chats. When you ask from a tab, the agent also sees what the tab shows at that moment (its numbers, signals, the rows of its tables and any detail you have open), so you can ask “who owes us money?” without copying anything. What it sees is not added to your message in the thread.

Select Hide Agent Panel to fold the panel into a narrow strip, and Show Agent Panel or the agent’s face to bring it back. The Control Room remembers your choice in this browser.

On a phone, select Ask and the agent’s name About This Tab along the bottom to open the agent as a sheet.

Under the agent’s name in the panel:

  • New Thread puts the tab’s chat aside, and your next question starts a fresh one. Nothing is deleted: the old chat stays a side chat with the agent, titled with its first question.
  • Previous lists the tab’s earlier chats with this agent, with when each was last used and the question it began with. Pick one to read it in the panel. Back to Current returns to the tab’s chat, and Open in Chats opens the old chat in Chats, where you can carry on with it.

What you ask on a tab stays in the tab’s chat. To keep an answer in your main thread with the agent, select Send to Main Thread under it. The question and the answer are copied there as a note from the dashboard, marked with a dashboard mark and From the and the chat’s name, with a link back to the tab. The agent reads the note as context for later questions in its main thread, and does not reply to it. An answer is only copied once. Lasting facts still reach every agent through the shared memory.

A department agent answers what sits in its own area. When a question needs another department’s data, it says so and offers to hand it to the Company Brain. Under each answer, Ask and the Company Brain’s name Instead sends the same question to the Company Brain, in its own chat about the tab, and switches the panel to it. Select Back to and the department agent’s name to return.

Under each answer in the panel, select Pin to Tab to keep the question and the answer at the top of the tab. A pinned card shows when you asked, the question and the answer’s key line.

  • Refresh asks the same question again, of the same agent, and keeps the new answer.
  • Unpin removes the card.

Pins are yours alone and are kept for each tab, on every device you sign in from. A tab holds up to 12 pins. Pinned answers do not refresh on their own; select Refresh when you want a fresh one.
