Skill tree
The home page: your company's departments, teams and jobs drawn as a tree around the brain.
# Skill tree The skill tree is the front door of the platform. At the centre sits the brain. Around it, each department is a branch. A department holds teams, and each team holds jobs, called leaves. A leaf is one thing the brain can do. Some leaves are ready to run, some need an admin to finish setting them up, and some are on the roadmap and not set up yet. Select a leaf to read what it does, then select **Start** to open a chat with that skill loaded. The tree shows the skills you may use. If your admin limited your departments, you see only those. On a wide screen the tree is drawn as a wheel, or as a line. On a phone or a narrow window it is shown as stacked sections that read the same information. In this section: - [Wheel and line](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/skill-tree/wheel-and-line/): turning the tree and switching its shape. - [Departments, teams and jobs](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/skill-tree/departments-teams-and-jobs/): opening a department and reading a job's card. - [The brain at the centre](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/skill-tree/the-brain-at-the-centre/): the knowledge map and graph. - [Editing the tree](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/skill-tree/editing-the-tree/): for admins. The skill tree is the front door of the platform.
