Connected apps
Link outside accounts such as Dropbox, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Notion so the brain can read what you share.
# Connected apps A connected app links one of your business accounts to the brain. The brain reads what you share from it, keeps it up to date, and answers questions from it with sources. You find the page at `/connections`, titled **Connected apps**. There are two kinds of connection. A **company-wide** connection is made by an admin once, and has an **audience**: **Admins Only** (the default), **Everyone**, or chosen **Departments**. Only the people in its audience can ask about what it shares, and everyone else sees that it exists and that it isn't open to them. A **personal** connection is made by one employee with their own account, and only that employee can ask about it. Personal connections exist only where an admin switched them on, and today the Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace apps, Slack and Notion offer them. The rule that holds for all of them: the brain sees the shared folders and nothing else. If a folder is not shared, the brain does not read it. If an admin stops sharing a folder or disconnects the app, the documents that came from it are removed from the brain. ## Who can ask An admin sets the audience under **Settings**, **Company Apps**, or in an app's **Manage** dialog, and it applies from the next question. Nothing is rebuilt or removed. - Connecting an app anew asks who it is for first, with the safest answer chosen. Reconnecting one that needs it keeps its audience. Disconnecting, or connecting a different account, puts it back to Admins Only. - Apps whose documents say where they came from can also have an audience per shared folder, label, calendar, channel or page. Once one area is set apart, a document outside the areas open to a person stays closed to them. Fireflies has one audience for the whole connection. - A person who may see all departments is in every Departments audience, and never in Admins Only. An admin reads every company connection. Nobody but its owner reads a personal one. - Web search holds nothing of the company's, so it has no audience. The audience covers everything: answers, sources, Files, downloads, the map, the graph, live tools, triggers and connected assistants. Apps that are listed but not yet available show a **Connect** button that is switched off. The apps are grouped by type of tool, such as Finance or Storage. A list of the groups, with how many apps each holds, sits beside them on a wide screen and along the top as a row you can swipe on a phone. Pick a group to jump to it; the list lights the group you are looking at as you scroll. - [Sharing folders and areas](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/sharing-folders-and-areas/): choose what the brain reads, and what happens when you stop. - [Dropbox](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/dropbox/) - [Microsoft 365](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/microsoft-365/): SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams. - [Google Workspace](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/google-workspace/): Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive. - [Base44](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/base44/) - [QuickBooks](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/quickbooks/) - [Slack](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/slack/): channels for the company, and your own conversations for you. - [Asking from Slack](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/asking-from-slack/): message the SkillTree bot in Slack and get answers there. - [Fireflies](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/fireflies/): recorded meetings, their summaries and transcripts. - [Notion](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/notion/): pages and databases, for the company or for yourself. - [ClickUp](https://docs.skilltreeos.ai/connected-apps/clickup/): set up by your deployment, not from this page.A connected app links one of your business accounts to the brain.
