Fireflies

Share recorded Fireflies meetings so the brain can answer from their summaries and transcripts.

Fireflies records and transcribes your calls. Connecting it lets the brain answer from what was said: who was on a call, what was agreed, and what each person took away. The card reads “Recorded meetings, summaries and transcripts.” It is a company-wide connection, available where your deployment has turned it on.

Fireflies has no approval page. Under Settings, on the Connections tab, choose Connect. A form asks for a Fireflies API key. To find it, sign in to Fireflies, open Settings, then Developer settings, and copy the API key. The brain checks the key with Fireflies and shows the email address of the person it belongs to. The key is stored encrypted and is never shown again.

The brain reads Fireflies as that person, so use the key of someone who is on the calls you want the brain to know about. For a team’s channels, use a team admin’s key.

Fireflies shares areas, not folders. Tick them in Manage Fireflies:

  • My meetings: every meeting the key’s person organised or attended.
  • One area for each team channel, such as Sales channel, when the key belongs to a team admin. Sharing a channel shares every meeting filed in it.

A meeting that sits in two shared areas is in the brain once.

Each meeting becomes one document: its title, date and time, length, organiser and attendees, the Fireflies summary, action items and keywords, then the full transcript, speaker by speaker. The first sync reads a number of days of history that your deployment sets, 180 by default. After that, new meetings arrive on every sync, and the brain looks back a few days each time for meetings Fireflies finished processing late.

The brain also learns who met whom. Each meeting, and each person on it by email address, goes into the knowledge graph, so a question such as “when did we last speak to Jane at Acme?” can be answered from the people as well as the words.

During a chat, the brain can also search the shared meetings live, by words in the title or in what was said, by date and by participant, and read one meeting’s summary, action items and transcript. Both only look inside the areas you shared, and they only read: nothing is ever created, changed, shared or deleted in Fireflies.

Fireflies limits how often its API can be called: 30 requests a minute and 500 a day on the Free plan (after a 14-day trial at Pro limits), 60 a minute and 5,000 a day on Pro, and a pooled allowance per paid seat on Business and Enterprise. The brain paces itself under these limits and spreads a large first import over several syncs. On the Free plan, a long history can take a day or more to arrive in full.

Unsharing an area or choosing Disconnect removes its meetings from the brain, after asking first. A meeting deleted in Fireflies, or a channel deleted there, leaves the brain too. If Fireflies stops accepting the key, for example after it was regenerated, the connection asks to be reconnected and keeps what it has until then.

Fireflies does not offer personal connections. See Sharing folders and areas.
