Your profile
Your photo, the three things the brain knows about you, and how to change them.
# Your profile Your profile has three parts: your **Name**, your **Role** (your job title, as your colleagues know it) and your **Day to day** (what a typical day looks like and what you need to get done). Only you write it. ## Your photo Choose **Your Profile** in the top bar, then **Choose Photo**, or drop an image onto the Photo card. It can be a JPG, PNG or WebP of up to 5 MB. Drag the picture and zoom until the circle looks right, then choose **Save Photo**. **Replace Photo** swaps it and **Remove Photo** goes back to your initials. Your photo shows beside your messages, on your account button in the top bar, and to admins in the People list. Location and camera details in the original file are not kept: what is stored is a new 512px image made from the part you cropped. ## Why it matters The brain puts a short "who you are talking to" note into every conversation. It uses your name, your role and your day to day to speak to you directly. It does not assume you are whoever a skill's instructions describe. If an admin limited your departments, the note says which ones you see. ## The first time you sign in On your first sign-in the brain sends you to a welcome page at `/welcome`. It asks three questions, one at a time, in a chat-like screen: "What should I call you?", then your role, then what a typical day looks like. A summary at the end lets you edit any answer, then choose **Let's Go** to save. You can skip the questions for now. The skip is remembered per browser, so you can finish your profile later at `/profile`. ## Change it later Choose the profile icon, **Your Profile**, in the top bar to open `/profile`. Edit the three fields and choose **Save**. You see "Saved" when it worked. Limits: name up to 80 characters, role up to 120, day to day up to 2,000. ## Change your password Where your workspace signs in with its own passwords, **Change Password** on your profile takes your current password and a new one of at least 12 characters. If you were given a temporary password, you choose your own the first time you sign in, before anything else opens. ## Who can see it Admins see how far each person has come under **Settings → People**, on each person's row: **Invited** (has not signed in yet), **Signed In** (has signed in but not finished setting up) or **Set Up**. They also see your job title.
